Alison (Pain management)

I was born with very mild cerebral palsy down my right side and have suffered chronic lower back pain and sciatica for about 5 years now. I’ve seen all sorts of Doctors who haven’t been able to give me a reason for the pain. I’ve had numerous procedures but nothing helped. The only thing that gave me some relief was medication.

Then I met James. I have been working with him since about January. He has helped strengthen my weaker side, given me more range of movement and reduced the pain. I have reduced my medication by 75%.

Each session is challenging yet James manages to make me laugh through the pain. The drive James has to make me succeed with my goals isn’t just limited to the gym floor. He regularly checks in to see how the pain has been between sessions and shares anything new he sees to help me manage my pain better. I can’t recommend this guy enough!

Sole Vitale (injury, body shape, pregnancy)

I started training with James 5 months ago due to some problems with my cervical spine disk C6. Before being referred to James, I tried for months with physio and Pilates sessions which didn’t quite work. After having an steroid injection I was told I was not going to be able to go back running again. Having said that, after I started training with James my back got much better, the pain disappeared and only after 2/3 months of training I was back running again. I highly recommend training with him!

Emily Maisey (Sports performance – Rugby)

After being selected for the Wasps ladies squad I had to step up my game, so I looked for a PT who would be able to offer me sports specific training as well as help with my general fitness. I have been working with James for some time now and the improvements I have made have been huge. He responds to particular weaknesses in my skillset by producing unusual and engaging drills, which keep things fresh and fun. James also adapts my sessions with him to support my training at Wasps, including being able to provide one-to-one support with particular weight exercises. He has also supported me back from injury after I tore a muscle in my back in January, proving how invaluable having someone who knows what ‘normal’ for you is. I have the added benefit of training which can fit around my day, as he is based in central London near where I work. His knowledge and experience in the game mean we can discuss strategy and he can also use video analysis to aid building a program which is specific to me and how I play. I look forward to continuing to work with him, with a view to playing at an even higher level in the future.

My experience with James was first class, having experienced many professional coaches whilst playing competitive football, James is by far one of the best I have ever worked with. I had torn my ACL in my left knee and the goal was by the end of five sessions to relieve it of any pain when exercising. James exceeded my expectations and by the first session he had already given me confidence to use my knee in explosive drills, from then it was all about improving performance which was clear to see in my first training session back in first team football. James also provided me with a training programme and nutrition guide that i used to help me lose 5kg. I would recommend James to anyone looking to improve within their competitive sport and to anyone who has sustained a serious injury lookin, not only to recover but, to better themselves.
